Marina Siotou
(b. 1995, Athens - Greece), is an artist that uses theater and writing to unwind stories and scenarios inside her head. She studied International and European Studies at the University of Pireaus and Performing Arts in Arhi Drama School. She’s an actress, director and playwright.
In theater she staged her first directorial debut along with Zoe Sigalou called Perseids or How to Party Hard at Onassis Stegi Foundation, FUTURE NOW Festival in March - April 2023. The text of the perfomance Perseids or How to Party Hard had been conducted by the Goethe Institut "New Stages Southeast" Program under the supervision of Jens Hillje and Prodromos Tsinikoris.
In cinema, she made her first debut in the feature film The City and the City - Berlinale Encounters 2022, dir. Christos Passalis & Syllas Tzoumerkas. She starred in the short film The Chaos She Left Behind - LA CINEF 2024 - Festival de Cannes, dir. Nikos Kolioukos, where she won the Best Leading Actress Award for her perfomance in the film at the 46th Drama International Short Film Festival, one of the major short film festivals in Greece, in the National Student Competition. She appeared in two official spots of the Greek Film Centre Organisation, which were commisssioned to director Nikos Kolioukos after the success of his short film. In 2024 she will be filming the short film The Beast who Walks Like a Man dir. by Nikos Kolioukos, which she has co-written the script along with Zoe Sigalou and the film has received funding by the Greek Film Centre and has won the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation (ERT) award at Olympia International Film Festival (2020).
Currently she is working on her first mini series along with Zoe Sigalou in pre production with Argonauts Production Company.
She has also worked as a Junior Producer at Akran Production Company and as a social media manager in film festivals such as (DISFF) Drama International Short Film Festival and Olympia International Film Festival for Children and Young People.
